DEWA's Warsan accommodation complex has achieved LEED Platinum Rating.

The Accommodation Complex in Warsan, developed by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), has achieved the prestigious Platinum Rating in the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) from the US Green Building Council (USGBC).

This achievement marks the first multifamily project in the world to receive this international certification, scoring 80 points under LEED Homes v4.1.

With this new accomplishment, DEWA now has a total of 10 buildings that have earned LEED ratings, demonstrating the organization's commitment to reducing carbon emissions in Dubai and striving for net zero energy usage.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, the MD & CEO of DEWA, stated, “We are dedicated to aligning with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to prioritize sustainability in Dubai's development and establish the city as a global leader in quality of life. DEWA has been a pioneer in adopting green building concepts, and our efforts have been recognized globally with the Platinum Rating in the LEED for Cities certification in 2019."

The Accommodation Complex in Warsan, which includes residential buildings for families and bachelors, has achieved significant water and energy savings, reduced leakage, and utilizes renewable energy sources to meet 10% of its energy requirements. Additionally, the furniture in the complex has been certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) for its environmentally friendly materials.
