Dubai Cares has launched a Ramadan fundraising campaign called "Gaza In Our Hearts" to raise funds for emergency relief for the people of Gaza. The campaign aims to address the depleting supply of necessities and heightened sentiment of compassion among the UAE community.

Dubai Cares has partnered with Anera to provide concrete emergency support to Gaza through the "Tarahum for Gaza" campaign. The funds raised will be used for hot meals, food baskets, waterproof and fire-resistant tents. Anera will work closely with UN, diplomatic, and non-governmental organization partners to urgently deliver life-saving aid.

The 'Gaza In Our Hearts' campaign was launched by Dubai Cares to provide life-saving aid to the people of Gaza. The UAE, including the government, charitable and philanthropic organizations, businesses, and the wider community, have joined efforts to respond to the urgent need for food and shelter. The conflict in Gaza has continued for six months, leaving many Gazans facing severe food insecurity. The campaign aims to alleviate hunger and suffering while also nurturing hope, resilience, and dignity. Dubai Cares has partnered with Anera to achieve these objectives.

Community members have the opportunity to contribute to this campaign directly through various means, such as:

  • Donating via SMS by texting "donation" to 9030, 9090, 9300, 9600 and 9900 to donate AED 30, AED 90, AED 300, AED 600 or AED 900 respectively through Etisalat by e& and du.

Since 7 October 2023, at least 29,313 Palestinians have been killed in the Gaza Strip, with 70 percent of those killed being women and children. Moreover, 69,333 Palestinians have been reportedly injured, and up to 280 government schools and 65 UNRWA-run schools have been destroyed or damaged.

Anera's President and CEO, Sean C. Carroll, has stated that during the holy month of Ramadan, people are seeking to fulfill humanitarian necessities in Gaza. Anera has already provided 20 million meals to Gaza since October 7, and with further support, they plan to deliver 5 million more during Ramadan. Anera will continue to work towards meeting emergency needs and eventually move towards recovery and reconstruction.
