Emirates' first upgraded 777 aircraft departs for Geneva.

The first Emirates Boeing 777 with a nose-to-tail cabin refresh, featuring a new look, is now in service and is set to depart for Geneva this afternoon as EK 83. The entire revamp of the aircraft took 37 days to complete, and it will enter service four days ahead of the officially announced deployment schedule.

Emirates shared a timelapse video providing a sneak peek into the extensive process of gutting, fitting, and refurbishing the first Emirates 777 cabins by the airline’s experienced in-house engineering team.

Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airline, stated, “Emirates is committed to providing an unrivaled onboard experience with the introduction of our latest Boeing 777 featuring new signature interiors, setting the industry benchmark for premium travel. Our new business-class cabin offers customers a sense of exclusivity and privacy, complemented by our top-notch suite of onboard products. The addition of our popular Premium Economy cabin, which is rated as one of the best in the industry, brings modern sophistication to the flying experience and is thoughtfully designed to offer greater comfort. As we continue to refresh more Boeing 777s and A380s to incorporate our latest generation onboard products, customers can consistently expect top-notch experiences on both aircraft types.”

The first refresh took 37 days and 18,000 manhours to complete, with teams working around the clock in a step-by-step process, from the removal of interiors to the reinstallation and testing of the new seats and other cabin components.
