Emirati designers' innovative creations are on display at the 70th Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair, courtesy of Sharjah Chamber.
The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), through the “Emirati Goldsmiths” Platform, participated in the 70th Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair, held in Bangkok, Thailand from 9th to 13th September 2024.
This participation highlights SCCI’s commitment to promoting young Emirati talents in the gold and jewelry design industry. The platform provided opportunities for young Emirati talents to exhibit their products and artistic designs in significant events, allowing them to access key global markets.
Mona Sultan Al Suwaidi, Director of the Executive Office of the SCCI’s Chairman and in charge of the Emirati Goldsmiths Platform, led the SCCI’s delegation, which included a selection of Emirati women designers. These designers showcased their latest innovative collections of gold and diamond jewelry at the fair and received positive feedback from attendees and industry experts, emphasizing the high level of excellence of Emirati designers and the growing influence of the UAE in the global jewelry design market.
Furthermore, the Emirati women designers participated in specialized seminars and craft workshops during the Bangkok Fair, gaining valuable insights into industry trends and techniques under the guidance of renowned international experts and designers in the field of gold and jewelry design and manufacturing.
Al Suwaidi emphasized the strategic value of participating in international exhibitions, reinforcing the UAE’s position as a premier hub for jewelry design and manufacturing. She highlighted the creative contributions of the Emirati designers at the Bangkok Fair, showcasing innovative pieces inspired by the UAE’s rich heritage, enabling them to engage with global trends and interact with industry experts, enhancing their capabilities while opening new horizons in international markets.
She further noted that the Sharjah Chamber’s participation in Bangkok Gems aligns with its commitment to supporting and promoting Emirati talents in the handicraft and jewelry design sectors. This initiative not only supports their integration into the global jewelry industry but also plays a pivotal role in driving national economic growth by providing them with access to international trade shows and platforms to enhance their skills and engage with global industry experts.
