Foden awarded EA SPORTS Player of the Season.
MANCHESTER, 18th May, 2024 (WAM) – Man City's Phil Foden has been named the 2023/24 EA SPORTS Player of the Season. Foden, at just 23 years old, has been a key part of Manchester City, who are one win away from making history by winning four consecutive Premier League titles. He has scored 17 goals and provided eight assists, directly contributing to 25 goals in 34 Premier League appearances, helping Man City lead the table by just two points ahead of Arsenal heading into the final day. "To win this award is an achievement that I am extremely proud of," Foden stated on Man City's official website. "The Premier League is recognized as the greatest league in the world, and it is an honor to have been nominated alongside so many other great players who have all had exceptional seasons for their clubs." The England star has played in both central and wing positions and has played the second-most minutes of any Man City outfield player this season, stepping up in the absence of injured playmaker Kevin De Bruyne, who has missed more than half of City's matches.
In March, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola called him "the best player in the Premier League". If City beats West Ham United on the final day, Foden will be the youngest player ever to win six Premier League titles.
