In the first half of 2024, the number of visitors to Qasr Al Watan Library increased to nearly 270,000, up from 185,000 in the same period last year, indicating a growth rate of 46 percent.

The library, affiliated with the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC), is a prominent cultural landmark in Abu Dhabi, attracting residents and tourists from around the world. It offers a wide range of cultural and knowledge experiences through its extensive collection of books, research articles, reports, documents, encyclopedias, book summaries, databases, and rare books.

Saeed Hamdan Al Tunaiji, Executive Director of the ALC, emphasized that the library's exceptional location within Qasr Al Watan, which is one of the few presidential premises in the world open to the public, has significantly contributed to its success. He also highlighted the library's commitment to promoting a culture of reading, providing rich sources of knowledge, and offering a diverse collection of books and educational resources.

According to Al Tunaiji, Qasr Al Watan Library is a significant historical institution and a reference for pivotal cultural milestones in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. The library supports the research environment with around 50,000 valuable resources carefully curated to meet the aspirations of readers and intellectuals.

The library aims to preserve and promote literary works and Arabic language research, thereby fostering a culture of reading in Arabic within the community. It also seeks to expand its content distribution through digital collections and enhance visitors' experience by organizing specialized cultural and educational programs and events.

Qasr Al Watan Library houses publications from various cultural institutions, research centers, official bodies, and local publishing houses, covering a wide range of knowledge areas such as archaeology, heritage, memoirs, biographies, culture, literature, and arts. In addition, it provides comfortable indoor spaces for reading, researching, and writing, equipped with modernly designed halls, computers, and advanced electronic browsing solutions.

The library also focuses on developing interactive applications to encourage knowledge enrichment and houses a diverse and distinctive collection of rare books, including literary works by European travelers that shed light on various aspects of Arab civilization.

Furthermore, there is a permanent exhibition in the Knowledge Pavilion at Qasr Al Watan Library showcasing the literary works that have won the Sheikh Zayed Book Award, providing visitors with the opportunity to explore the most notable literary and cultural contributions honored by the award over the years.
