Mohammad Al Gergawi awarded honorary Doctorate at Georgetown University

Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business celebrated the graduation of its Class of 2024 at the Healy Lawn in Washington, D.C. The event featured a keynote address by Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, who received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree for his contributions to the public and private sectors. The degree was presented by Georgetown University President John J. DeGioia, recognizing Al Gergawi's career of public service, investments in education and innovation, and efforts to advance his country's development and growth. The ceremony marked the graduation of nearly 900 students from the graduate business programs, who now join the university's global alumni network of over 220,000 members.

Additionally, in September 2023, Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business launched its Executive Master of Business Administration program in the UAE at the Dubai International Financial Center Academy. The program, which has garnered significant interest, admitted 54 students and offers elective courses covering topics prioritized by the UAE for its economic growth, such as sustainability and AI development. The first cohort of UAE students is scheduled to graduate in 2025 after completing the 20-month program.
