SIH is taking part in the Thessaloniki International Book Fair.

The Sharjah Institute for Heritage (SIH) is participating in the Sharjah Pavilion at the twentieth edition of the Thessaloniki International Book Fair in Greece, taking place from May 16th to 19th. Sharjah is the first Arab honorary guest at the fair and is making a significant presence through the Sharjah Book Authority and various cultural and academic institutions.
Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Musallam, the Chairman of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, stated, "The extensive participation of the Emirate of Sharjah and its institutions in this major global cultural event confirms the prestigious international position that Sharjah has achieved in preserving culture and heritage and promoting the exchange of knowledge among peoples and communities. This reflects the leadership of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and highlights the rich experience that transcends continents, cultures, and generations."

Al-Musallam emphasized that the Sharjah Institute for Heritage's participation in this cultural event demonstrates its ongoing commitment to actively engage in international events and forums. The institute aims to present Emirati cultural heritage in a remarkable manner, provide opportunities for interaction with local heritage landmarks, and connect visitors to the deep roots of the authentic national identity. Additionally, it seeks to meet the interests of readers and enthusiasts of cultural heritage by displaying various publications and specialized books in this field, as well as engage with institutions and centers worldwide interested in cultural heritage.

The Sharjah Institute for Heritage includes various departments and affiliated centers. Its activities range from live demonstrations of traditional women's crafts, traditional men's and women's folk costumes, and children's costumes, to the Emirati hospitality corner. Here, Emirati coffee and popular sweets such as dates, bethitha, and khunfaroush are served, reflecting Emirati generosity and noble qualities in dealing with others.

I have noted the following text: "Visitors to the fair have expressed enjoyment and interest in the Emirati folk arts presented by the Sharjah National Folk Dance Troupe, such as Ayyala, Liwa, Medima, Hibban, and Nuban.
