Sultan bin Ahmed has initiated an eye surgery campaign in Egypt.

H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council (SMC), recently initiated a campaign for eye surgeries, sponsored by Sharjah Broadcast Authority (SBA) in collaboration with Sharjah Charity International. The campaign targets eye patients who cannot afford the costs of treatment at the University Hospital in Aswan, Egypt.

During his visit, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed familiarized himself with the hospital's services, medical equipment, patient care, and procedures for diagnosing and treating eye diseases. He met with patients who had undergone eye operations sponsored by SBA through its charitable television and radio programs that aim to collect donations from benefactors.

Muhammad Hassan Khalaf, Director General of SBA, expressed gratitude to Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi for launching the hearts and eyes campaigns in Egypt. He praised the support from the wise leadership for enhancing charitable contributions, improving living standards, and providing global healthcare.

Khalaf also appreciated the collaboration of Sharjah Charity International in supporting charitable campaigns, especially their efforts in reviewing medical cases through the radio program "The Sent Wind" and gathering donations to provide medical assistance to those in need.

These initiatives are part of SCI's ongoing charitable efforts, which have facilitated over 130 heart surgeries for children in various countries across Asia and Africa.

According to Bin Khadim, the campaigns receive sponsorship from the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority and generous philanthropists. Their aim is to continue providing medical treatment to children with heart diseases and individuals with eye conditions in Aswan and surrounding areas, with the SCI overseeing all surgical procedures at Magdi Yacoub Heart Centre and Aswan University Hospital.
