The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre is now accepting nominations for the 4th edition of its 'Arabic Pals' competition.

The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC) has announced the opening of the nomination period for the fourth edition of its 'Arabic Pals' competition. The nomination period runs until 28 October 2024.

The competition is organized by the Centre's Arabic Language Education and Research Department. It is open to children and youth aged 8 to 16, including both Arabic and non-Arabic speakers.

The main objectives of the competition are to promote the Arabic language and encourage children and youth to use it in their daily lives. It also aims to showcase the beauty and versatility of the Arabic language and to encourage non-Arabic speakers to learn and speak Arabic.

The ALC encourages parents and guardians to support their children's participation in the competition by creating and submitting creative videos that reflect their relationship with the Arabic language. Participants can submit a video of up to two minutes that showcases their experiences with the Arabic language.

The competition consists of three categories: reciting verses of Arabic poetry, presenting an overview of the history of the UAE or the achievements of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and sharing personal experiences related to learning Arabic for non-Arabic speakers. The competition offers a chance to win a cash prize of up to AED10,000.

Submissions will be judged by a specialized committee based on specific criteria, including the number of views and shares that winning videos receive. The winners will be announced at a later date.
