The Annual Cancer Conference at Mediclinic Abu Dhabi concludes.

Under the patronage of Sheikh Nahyan Mabarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, and with the support of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, the 3rd Mediclinic Abu Dhabi Annual Cancer Conference concluded on May 18, 2024.

During the conference, Sheikh Nahyan expressed the UAE's commitment to providing the best healthcare and medical services for all, under the guidance and support of President His Highness Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He emphasized the importance of promoting disease prevention, encouraging partnerships between healthcare institutions, educational organizations, and community groups to develop effective public education campaigns.

Sheikh Nahyan also highlighted the potential of new technologies such as nanotechnology, gene therapies, and personalized medicine in the fight against cancer. He expressed particular interest in the impact of Artificial Intelligence on individualized medicine in terms of cost and availability of treatment.

Furthermore, Sheikh Nahyan stressed the need for a focused strategy in the region to combat cancer, emphasizing the importance of proper data analysis and information to guide future efforts.

The conference was attended by over 300 medical professionals from across the UAE specializing in oncology. It featured presentations from 22 speakers from the UAE and Hirslanden, Mediclinic’s sister division in Switzerland.

Hein van Eck, Chief Executive Officer of Mediclinic Middle East, emphasized the fast-paced evolution of cancer treatment, highlighting the importance for oncology professionals to stay updated with the latest developments to provide evidence-based care for their patients.
