Warning: UAE Government Alerts of Severe Weather for the Weekend

The National Emergency Crisis Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) has issued a severe weather warning for the UAE this weekend, predicting lightning, thunderstorms, and hail storms from Friday, March 8 to Sunday, March 10. NCEMA advised caution around large bodies of water and moving vehicles to safety. Tourism events may be canceled, subject to local emergency teams' decisions, and working from home may be recommended at the discretion of each emirate.

Forecasts indicate a high chance of rain across most emirates, including Dubai. NCEMA emphasized not to heed rumors about weather conditions and assured readiness to handle any situation. The severe weather will initially impact southern and western regions before moving towards Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Al Ain, and northern areas. The most intense weather is expected from midnight on Friday to midnight on Saturday.

Ignoring safety advice near water bodies could lead to violations of ministerial resolution no—178 of 2017 concerning traffic laws in the UAE. Stay informed through official channels and prioritize safety during severe weather conditions.
