UAE's RAK Ruler tells SCO Summit that UAE is committed to strengthening partnerships and cooperation worldwide, led by Mohamed bin Zayed.

Head of the UAE delegation, H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, participated in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Astana, Kazakhstan on behalf of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The summit, held on 3rd and 4th July under the theme "Strengthening Multilateral Dialogue - Striving Towards a Sustainable Peace and Prosperity," was attended by heads of state and government of Member States, as well as representatives of regional and international organisations.

The UAE's participation in the summit as a "Dialogue Partner" comes after its official recognition by the SCO during the organization's meetings in India last year. H.H. Sheikh Saud emphasized the UAE's commitment to strengthening partnerships and cooperation with countries worldwide across various sectors, including economic, trade, political, cultural, energy, and technological fields to drive development and promote a prosperous and sustainable future for all.

At the summit, H.H. Sheikh Saud highlighted the UAE's support for multilateral international work and emphasized the important role of the SCO in enhancing cooperation among Member States. He also emphasized the UAE's approach to economic partnerships, foreign trade, investment, and international cooperation to address pressing global issues and priorities.

Moreover, H.H. Sheikh Saud stressed the importance of the summit in paving the way for enhanced cooperation among member countries in advancing common interests that serve their peoples. He also reiterated the UAE's call for an immediate and lasting ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, urgent delivery of humanitarian aid, and the need to achieve a just and lasting peace based on the two-state solution for the Palestinian people.

The SCO Summit included speeches by several heads of state and leaders of international organizations, focusing on regional and global issues, and ways to enhance partnership among SCO members to maintain peace, security, and accelerate development in the region.

Accompanying H.H. Sheikh Saud were a high-level delegation comprising officials including the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Minister of Economy, Minister of State, and the UAE Ambassador to Kazakhstan.
